Painless Coaching Services

Our services are for…

Individuals/Groups

The privacy of 1-on-1 coaching promotes a more open and honest communication between the coach and the individual, allowing for greater flexibility of personal schedules. Group coaching brings together individuals with diverse backgrounds, experiences, and perspectives, leading to a rich exchange of ideas, insights, and coping strategies.

Employers

Pain Coaching contributes to a supportive workplace culture, adds levity to  employees' health and well-being, increases productivity, promotes work/life balance and can help reduce absenteeism. From a cost perspective, pain coaching can lower healthcare costs, as well as, ensure compliance with disability regulations and prevent disability claims.

1:1 Program

In one-on-one coaching, the process begins with a thorough assessment of the individual’s specific pain condition, medical history, lifestyle factors, and current coping mechanisms. This helps the coach understand the individual’s unique needs and challenges. Here, there’s more opportunity for in-depth exploration of personal issues, the underlying factors contributing to the individual’s challenges, and the ability to collaborate with their healthcare team.

Group Coaching

“Shared joy is double joy; shared sorrow is half sorrow.”

Having access to a supportive community is one of the best ways to improve your overall pain journey and stay committed to your healing process. In addition to offering support groups for individuals living with chronic pain, we also provide a specialized group for caregivers. As one learns, chronic pain is not a solitary traveler and often journeys with one’s family and/or significant others.

Frequently asked questions

  • Chronic Pain Coaches focus on empowering individuals to take an active role in managing their pain and improving their overall well-being. We provide education, support, and practical tools to help you implement lifestyle changes and self-care strategies. Therapists focus on addressing mental health concerns and emotional issues using therapeutic techniques, and are trained to diagnose and treat mental health disorders.

  • Yes, Chronic Pain Coaches often work in tandem with other healthcare professionals as part of a multidisciplinary approach to pain management. Collaboration between chronic pain coaches and healthcare professionals such as physicians, physical therapists, occupational therapists, psychologists, and pain management specialists can enhance the effectiveness of treatment and necessary on-going support for individuals dealing with chronic pain.

  • The frequency and duration of coaching sessions are tailored to meet the needs and preferences of each individual. Due to the “persistent” and complex ways pain affects one’s daily activities and lifestyle, chronic pain coaching often involves an ongoing process rather than a fixed number of sessions.

Some individuals may benefit from a short-term coaching intervention focused on developing pain management skills, setting goals, and implementing lifestyle changes. Others may require longer-term support to address complex pain-related issues, make sustainable lifestyle changes, and maintain progress over time.

We typically find 6 consecutive weekly sessions, followed by 2 additional sessions, either consecutively or every other week, providing an individual with a personalized “toolkit” they can utilize.

  • The fee charged by a health and wellness coach reflects a combination of factors including their credentials, expertise, experience, specialization, and services offered. A National Board Certified Health and Wellness Coach, like myself, whose sole focus is chronic pain, demonstrates a higher level of competency, expertise, and professionalism compared to a general coach in health and wellness. We undergo rigorous evaluation processes, adhere to nationally recognized standards, and offer specialized knowledge and skills to effectively support individuals in achieving their health and wellness goals. Coaches who aspire to meet this standard strive to uphold the highest ethical and professional standards while supporting their clients in achieving their goals.

  • We use a fee-for-service based payment model. This approach allows us to focus more on delivering patient-centered care without the constraints, ie; of how many “visits” allowed, and prior authorization imposed by insurance requirements.

  • We realize, especially with chronic pain, there are times when unforeseen circumstances or a conflicting commitment can interfere with keeping one's scheduled individual and/or group session. For this reason, we have designed a policy where an individual session can be rescheduled within 60 days, and based upon availability. Each of our 8-week group coaching programs will include one additional “open” session built in immediately following the end of the program.

  • We provide clients the ability to communicate with us in between sessions via email. We strive to respond promptly within a reasonable timeframe. If you are in crisis and in need of immediate assistance, you can dial 988 or text 741741 to be connected with a crisis counselor 24-hrs, 7 days a week. All calls are confidential and anonymous.
